PHILADELPHIA, Miss. (AP) - The city of Philadelphia will be charging more for being buried on weekends and after 3 p.m. on weekdays.

The Neshoba Democrat reports (https://bit.ly/1lzHJnu ) Cemetery Manager Larry McKinney had recommenced discontinuing weekend burials and any after 3 p.m. on weekdays, but the board of aldermen settled on raising fees instead.

Fees for burials at Cedarlawn and Eastlawn cemeteries will increase from $400 to $500 after 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and from $400 to $600 on Saturday, Sunday and holidays.

Donald Rest Cemetery would not be affected as funeral homes customarily provide the services there.

Internment fees for cremation will increase from $100 to $150 on Monday through Friday and to $200 on Saturday and Sunday.
