KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee’s Southeastern Conference success this season has raised over $22,000 for the Pat Summitt Foundation through a pledge drive started by Lady Vols assistant coach Kyra Elzy.
Elzy and her husband, Dexter Lander, pledged $100 to the Pat Summitt Foundation for each of the Lady Vols’ SEC wins this season. She donated twice as much for SEC tournament victories. Fifty-two people joined Elzy in pledging various sums.
Pat Summitt Foundation director Patrick Wade says Elzy’s project has produced more than $22,000 in pledges this season. Tennessee went 13-3 in SEC play and won the conference tournament.
