OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma’s multicounty grand jury is preparing to reconvene.
The grand jury will meet Tuesday through Thursday at the Oklahoma Attorney General’s office in Oklahoma City.
The multicounty grand jury was requested by Attorney General Scott Pruitt and approved by the Oklahoma Supreme Court in September 2012. So far, the 14th Oklahoma multicounty grand jury has returned 13 indictments.
The grand jury has jurisdiction to investigate criminal matters in all 77 counties, assisting local law enforcement as well as handling matters of state interest. Each month, grand jurors meet to hear testimony for two or three days. The proceedings are closed to the public and the nature of the investigations are confidential.
The 13th Oklahoma Multicounty Grand Jury concluded in August 2012 with 25 indictments against a total of 31 individuals.
