MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - The University of Montana will host San Diego in the second round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.
The game tips off at 7 p.m. Monday. Tickets go on sale Friday.
The Lady Griz (23-10) advanced to the round of 32 with a 90-78 win over Washington State on Wednesday while the Toreros (23-8) defeated Cal Poly 82-59 on Thursday.
San Diego is playing in its third straight WNIT and advanced to the tournament semifinals two years ago. The Toreros opened the season with a 15-0 record and were ranked No. 24 in the nation in early January. They posted an 11-7 conference record to tie for fourth in the West Coast Conference.
Montana posted a 14-6 conference record and was runner-up in the Big Sky Conference tournament.
