CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - C.J. Burks had 25 points to lead Hedgesville to a 54-49 win over Parkersburg South in the Class AAA quarterfinals Thursday.

Hedgesville overcame a 32-25 halftime deficit by holding Parkersburg South to only 4 points in the third quarter.

Daniel Delaware put the Eagles on top for good after he connected with a free throw and a 50-49 lead. Delaware added 11 points for third-seeded Hedgesville (19-5).



Parkersburg South was held scoreless that final 2:04 and without a field goal for the final 3:40 of the game.

Garrett Gilkeson and J.R. Kerr added 10 points for sixth-seeded Parkersburg South (19-7).

Hedgesville plays seventh-seeded Hurricane in the semifinals Friday for a chance to return to the state finals where it won the title in 2012 over George Washington.
