PARIS (AP) - French league leader Paris Saint-Germain’s backup goalkeeper has signed a one-year contract extension until 2015.

Nicolas Douchez has hardly played since joining the club from Rennes three years ago, making only four league appearances. This season, the 33-year-old goalkeeper has played four times in the domestic cup competitions and is likely to start in next month’s League Cup final against Lyon.

Douchez, who made 111 league appearances for Rennes and previously played for Toulouse, said “carrying on with PSG is something obvious for me.”

Midfielders Blaise Matuidi and Thiago Motta also recently signed new contracts.
