SPEARFISH, S.D. (AP) - Carley Peterson scored 19 points to lead Sioux Valley to a 56-52 win over Elk Point-Jefferson in the third-place game at the South Dakota Class A girls basketball tournament on Saturday.
The Cossacks (21-4) outscored Elk Point-Jefferson 24-18 in the fourth quarter.
Sioux Valley’s Kaylee Granum had four 3-pointers and 13 points. She also dished out three assists.
Keely Bertram had 20 points and nine rebounds for the Huskies (22-3), who shot 43 percent from the field. McKenzie Mennenga added 17 points.
