BARRE, Vt. (AP) - At least ten people have been displaced after fire ripped through an apartment building in the Vermont city of Barre.

Firefighters were called to the Elmwood Avenue building late Friday afternoon. The residents had escaped the fire and no one was injured.

The Barre-Montpelier Times Argus reports (https://bit.ly/1d5EWws ) that the cause of the fire is being investigated. Authorities say the fire is not considered to be suspicious.



The Red Cross says it has helped 10 residents from five apartments find temporary housing and other resources.
