NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Twins who owned a northern New Jersey pharmacy are going to federal prison for 42 months for conspiring to commit health care fraud.
Prosecutors say Robert and William Carlucci reaped at least $1/5 million by defrauding patients, Medicaid and insurance companies over 15 years. The 70-year-olds owned West Orange Pharmacy.
Officials say the twins would bill insurers for full prescriptions while giving customers fewer pills. Officials also say they substituted cheaper generic drugs for brand-name prescriptions without telling patients or insurers.
