BENNINGTON, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a 30-year-old western New York man who was killed in a snowmobile accident Wednesday night wasn’t found until the following morning when crews were clearing snow from the blizzard.
The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office tells local media that Jeffery Kirsch Cowlesville was driving a snowmobile on a road when he went off the shoulder and hit a road sign in the rural town of Bennington, in the county’s northwest corner 25 miles east of Buffalo.
Deputies say the accident scene wasn’t discovered until Thursday morning by a town plow truck driver.
Kirsch was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the investigation is continuing.
