FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - The contractor for a massive forest-thinning project in northern Arizona has added a site in Williams that it will develop to process timber and biomass.

The U.S. Forest Service earlier this week approved the change to the business plan for Good Earth Power AZ LLC.

Good Earth spokeswoman Lori Martinek said Thursday that plans for the Winslow site have not been finalized.

The Forest Service has issued work orders to thin 15,000 acres. Orders for another 22,000 acres are expected to be released this year.

Good Earth general manager Darren Gurner says most of that work is on the western portion close to Williams.

Good Earth has said it will work with local mills and invest in some so that they have the capacity to take the harvested products.
