BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) - Sioux Falls O’Gorman’s suffocating defense led to a 60-35 win over Rapid City Stevens Thursday at the South Dakota Class AA girls basketball tournament.
O’Gorman (17-6) held the Raiders (14-10) to just 23 percent shooting from the field. The Knights forced 13 turnovers and out-rebounded the Raiders 43-28.
Ten O’Gorman players scored, with eight notching between five and nine points. Dalee Stene led the way with nine points.
Marissa Hirchert had 14 points and six rebounds for Stevens. Virginia Vifquain made just 4 of 14 shots, but finished with 10 points.
