WHEELING, W.Va. (AP) - A man who stormed out of a federal courtroom has been convicted of two counts of obstructing and resisting an officer.
U.S. Attorney William Ihlenfeld said Thursday that 43-year-old Michael Behrens of Triadelphia was convicted of the misdemeanor offenses in federal court in Wheeling.
Ihlenfeld (EE’-len-feld) says spectators at the criminal trial of Behrens’ brother had been advised to keep comments and emotions to themselves upon hearing the verdict. But Ihlenfeld says Behrens kicked a bench, made a verbal outburst and left the courtroom.

Deputy U.S. marshals ordered him to stop in the lobby to be taken back to court. He refused and a struggle ensued. Behrens was restrained, taken to a holding cell and returned to the courtroom.
Behrens faces up to a year in prison on each count.
