LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Authorities say a car stopped for speeding on Interstate 80 in north Lincoln contained more than 44 pounds of marijuana.
The Nebraska State Patrol says the eastbound car was spotted by a patrol aircraft around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. A trooper pulled over the car and soon learned that the driver was wanted on a California warrant.
The patrol says a subsequent search of the car turned up the pot inside three duffel bags.
The driver, 23-year-old David Azaria, of Los Angeles, and his passenger, 21-year-old Christophe Clasquin, of Beverly Hills, Calif., were arrested. Lancaster County jail records said both men remained in custody on Wednesday. Online court records don’t yet list the case.
