WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Wilmington police have arrested a 911 operator they say told a suspect that police had been notified about a shooting.
Twenty-five-year-old Alleshia Kennedy of Wilmington was also charged with official misconduct and hindering prosecution. Police say she was arrested Monday at police headquarters.
The News Journal of Wilmington, citing court records, reports that on Jan. 9, Kennedy took a 911 call from someone calling to correct an address given to another dispatcher about a shooting.
The News Journal reports that according to an affidavit, Kennedy then texted her boyfriend, whom she suspected had been involved in the shooting. Court documents say Kennedy told her boyfriend that the shooting had been reported at his address.
Court papers show that Kennedy did not put the address into the 911 system.
