HANNIBAL, Mo. (AP) - Authorities in the northeast Missouri town of Hannibal are searching for thieves who stole two electrical transformers worth a combined $25,000.

The Hannibal Board of Public Works says the transformers were taken from the site of the former St. Elizabeth Hospital. Electric line superintendent Jared Stewart told the Hannibal Courier-Post (https://bit.ly/1eQ5G5c ) that it wasn’t known exactly when the transformers were taken. It also wasn’t clear what the thieves planned to do with them.
