EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - A Eugene, Ore., man is facing nearly 3 ½ years in prison after two sentencings in less than a week for state and federal offenses.

The Register-Guard reports (https://is.gd/ogwesA) that a Lane County judge sentenced Scott Alan Gorman on Tuesday to 13 months on state charges of assaulting a public safety officer and fourth-degree assault.

Last Friday, Gorman got a 41-month federal sentence for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Under terms of his plea agreement, he’ll serve the state sentence at the same time as the longer federal sentence.

The federal weapons charge arose a year ago after he made comments about a gun to staff members at a Eugene nursing home where his wife was a patient. He reportedly was upset over his wife’s treatment. Probation officers who went to his home found a rifle and ammunition.

At the time, Gorman was on probation for a felony conviction for unlawful use of a weapon.
