2 shot at Meridian nightclub

MERIDIAN, Miss. (AP) - Meridian police say a shooting at a nightclub has left two people with injuries.

WTOK-TV (https://bit.ly/1alc9b7 ) reports officers were outside the club about 3 a.m. Sunday when they heard a gunshot. Police didn’t identify the business, but the station says the address corresponds to The Sportsman Club.

Police say patrons began exiting immediately after the gunshot but officers were able to get the crowd under control.

Police say one of the victims was arguing with a younger man when that person pulled a gun and shot at him. The victim was grazed in the thigh. A bullet also struck a second victim, standing near where the two were arguing, in the calf.

Both victims were treated and released.
