ALTON, N.H. (AP) - Gentlemen, open your wallets.
The two palatial estates owned by the founder of the New Hampshire Motor Speedway are on the market for $49 million, the highest listing ever seen in the state. They sit on 16 acres in Alton on the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee.
Speedway founder Robert Bahre had them built from 2000-2004. He now lives in Florida.
The homes - jointly called Longview - include more than 63,000 square feet of living space plus a 7,655-square-foot “entertainment barn.” There are two stone boathouses, several docks, a stone amphitheater, pool with grotto, tennis court and helicopter pad. Three garages can hold 22 cars.
The combined properties were assessed for nearly $19 million in 2013.
Joe Ryan, CEO of the Northern New England Real Estate Network, says the highest closing price his service ever recorded is $8.7 million in 2012.
