TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - State wildlife officials say another bighorn sheep has died in the Catalina Mountains north of Tucson, where 31 bighorns were released late last year.

The bighorn death discovered Tuesday is the 12th confirmed by the Game and Fish Department.

The Arizona Daily Star (https://bit.ly/1jMICaE) reports that the cause of the most recent death is under investigation.

Mountain lions have been preying on the sheep since they were released in Catalina State Park on Nov. 18 after relocation from mountains in western Arizona.

In another development, state officials say a third bighorn lamb has been spotted in the Catalinas.
