FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - Luis Jacobo scored 23 points and made 6 of 10 3-pointers on Saturday night as Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne beat Western Illinois 77-64.
Steve Forbes had 18 points and six rebounds and Joe Reed added 10 points.
IPFW (18-6, 6-1 Summit League) claims sole possession of first place in the Summit League with North Dakota State’s 67-63 loss at Denver.
Western Illinois (9-13, 3-4) twice closed to within two points on second-half 3-pointers by Mike Miklusak and Garret Covington, but IPFW pulled away by closing the game on a 15-4 run.
IPFW also closed out the first half on a 12-4 run to lead 41-32 at the break.
WIU shot 21 of 40 from the field but was out-rebounded 32-19. Covington led the Leathernecks with 18 points and made 5 of 8 3-pointers. Adam Link had 13 points, Jabari Sandifer added 12 and Mike Miklusak scored 11.
