FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - A Fort Wayne woman faces battery and neglect charges for allegedly throwing her infant daughter against a wall and inflicting a serious head injury.

Ashley A. Strong was charged Friday with one count of battery and two counts of neglect of a dependent. The 28-year-old was being held at the Allen County Jail in lieu of $22,500 bail.

Court documents say Strong called 911 on Jan. 10 and reported that her 3-year-old daughter had dropped her 3-week-old infant on the floor.

The Journal Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1gBqT8w ) Strong later told police she threw the baby against a wall because the infant wouldn’t stop crying.

Court documents say the infant was listed in a critical condition Jan. 10 with a skull fracture, but provides no subsequent update on her condition.
