ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - In a story April 6, The Associated Press reported that Lyme disease affects about 30,000 people annually, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The agency says that while 30,000 cases are officially reported annually, the number of Americans infected each year is estimated at around 300,000, based on preliminary results of three ongoing studies.
