PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - Gov. Dennis Daugaard is inviting communities across the state to apply to be South Dakota’s Capital for a Day.

The promotion involves a main street walk, business tours around town and a social hour. Daugaard also holds a roundtable lunch for community leaders to meet and discuss the needs of the city.

Daugaard says it’s a unique opportunity for him to get to know residents, find out what issues are on their minds and discuss the future.
