MCCOMB, Miss. (AP) - A former North Pike School District transportation official has been sentenced to four years’ non-adjudicated probation after pleading guilty to allegedly siphoning the money from a school district account.

Non-adjudicated probation means if Jimmy Coker successfully completes the four years without a violation there will be no permanent record of the conviction.

The Enterprise-Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1hYssaS ) Coker entered the plea this week in Pike County Circuit Court.

According to court records, Coker purchased items for private use at Rogers Auto Supply on a school district account between Jan. 1, 2011, and Sept. 30, 2013. Prosecutors say Coker falsified the transportation department’s records in an attempt to conceal the purchases.

Prosecutors say a condition of the plea agreement is Coker may never again hold a public position.
