The Canadian House of Commons has officially gone on record: It is ready for the zombie apocalypse.
In a humorous exchange on between member Pat Martin of Winnipeg and Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird, the emergency procedures put in place to fend off a zombie attack were discussed during business hours because “zombies do not recognize borders.”
Asked about Canada’s preparedness on behalf of “concerned Canadians,” Mr. Baird gave a tongue-in-cheek answer: “I want to assure this measure and all Canadians that I am ‘dead-icated’ to ensuring that [a zombie invasion] never happens. I want to say categorically to this member and through him to all Canadians, that under the leadership of this prime minister, Canada will never become a safe haven for zombies — ever!”
With that, the House of Commons burst into cheers and applause.
