NEW YORK (AP) - Mets right-hander Jason Isringhausen has a herniated disk in his lower back, and the 39-year-old reliever will be sidelined several days.

Isringhausen said Thursday before New York played a doubleheader against Atlanta that the injury is causing him to feel numbness in his foot and he’ll likely get a shot to help ease the pinched nerve.

The two-time All-Star started his career with the Mets in 1995 and returned this year after missing most of 2009 and all of last season for Tommy John surgery.
