BALTIMORE | Orioles right-hander Kevin Millwood will be activated from the 15-day disabled list Thursday and will start that night against the Minnesota Twins. Millwood was placed on the DL on July 6 with a strained right forearm. He is 2-8 with a 5.77 ERA in 18 starts. Interim manager Juan Samuel said Tuesday that right-hander Jeremy Guthrie will receive an extra day of rest and will start Friday against Minnesota. Brian Matusz will start Saturday, followed by Chris Tillman. In other news, Samuel says reliever Mike Gonzalez (shoulder) will probably be activated from the DL after Wednesday’s game against Tampa Bay. Also, second baseman Brian Roberts (back) will come off the DL sometime next week.
