Washington Capitals fans are still flying high after the team’s near-flawless performance in Game 5. Now the team has two chances to clinch the series.

The Capitals have hit the road again, traveling to Game 6 needing just one win to move on in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Will they accomplish that Monday, or will the Carolina Hurricanes force a Game 7 back in the District? Here’s what you need to know before the puck drops.

Opponent: Carolina Hurricanes (Capitals lead series 3-2)

Where: PNC Arena, Raleigh, North Carolina

When: Monday, April 22, 7 p.m.

TV channel: NBC Sports Network, NBC Sports Washington

Radio: 106.7 The Fan

What to watch for: Braden Holtby stopped 30 shots en route to his seventh career playoff shutout win in Game 5, setting a new record for Capitals goaltenders. That number also tied Holtby’s personal high for saves in a playoff shutout win. … The Hurricanes have chosen to wear their alternate uniforms — all-black with a secondary logo of a hockey stick bearing two storm warning flags — for home games throughout the playoffs. Carolina went 12-2-2 in the regular season when wearing these alternates and won both games at PNC Arena over Washington last week.
