Person hit by train in Tennessee dies

GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (AP) - Police say a person struck by a train in Tennessee has died.

Germantown Police Capt. Mike Fisher told news outlets that officers were called to the scene in the Memphis suburb Sunday afternoon and found a pedestrian had been struck by a train. The person was pronounced dead.

Fisher said the incident happened in an area where pedestrians aren’t allowed. Police were investigating and had not released the person’s identity.
