Democrat Mike Cooney

Mike Cooney (b. September 3, 1954, in Washington DC) is a Democratic candidate for Governor and the current Lieutenant Governor of Montana. He became Montana’s 32nd Lieutenant Governor in January 2016 when appointed by Governor Steve Bullock. He earned his B.S. from the University of Montana. He is a former member of the Montana House of Representatives. He is also a former member and president of the Montana Senate from 2003-2010. He served as the Secretary of State for Montana from 1989 - 2000. He is the former deputy director for the Montana Department of Labor and Industry.
