Republican Doug Burgum

Doug Burgum is the 33rd and current Republican Governor of North Dakota. Burgum was first elected in the general election in 2016. He is seeking reelection to his current seat. In 2016, Burgum defeated Marvin Nelson (D), others (Burgum - 76.5%; Nelson - 19.4%; other - 4.1%). He earned his B.A. from North Dakota State University and a M.A. from Stanford University. Before being elected to his current office, Burgum was an executive and a venture capitalist.
