Republican Ron Wright

Ron Wright (b. April 8, 1953, in Cherokee County, TX) is a Republican member of the U.S. House representing Texas's 6th Congressional District. He is seeking reelection to his current seat. Wright was first elected to the House in the general election in 2018. In 2018, Wright defeated Democrat Lana Lynne Sanchez and Libertarian Jason Harber (Wright – 53.1%; Sanchez – 45.4%; Harber – 1.5%). Gooden graduated from Azle High School and attended University of Texas, Austin. He went on to work as a sales executive and newspaper columnist. Gooden later served as district director and chief of staff for U.S. Congressman Joe Barton and as a member of the City Council of Arlington, TX and Mayor pro tempore.
