Republican Nicholas Taylor

Nicholas “Van” Taylor (b. August 1, 1972, Dallas, TX) is a Republican member of the U.S. House, representing Texas' 3rd Congressional District. He was first elected in 2014. He is running for reelection to the U.S. House. In 2018, Taylor defeated Democrat Lorie Burch and Libertarian candidate Christopher Claytor (Crenshaw - 54.2%; Burch - 44.2%; Claytor - 1.5%). Taylor earned his undergraduate and masters’ degree from Harvard University. He is a veteren of the U.S. Navy. Later, Taylor joined Churchill Capital Company, a firm focused on real estate finance. He also served as Vice Chairman of Texas Gulf Bancshares. He went on to serve as a member of the Texas State House of Representatives and as a member of the Texas State Senate.
