Brett Guthrie is a (b. February 18, 1964, in Florence, AL) Republican member of the U.S. House representing the 2nd Congressional District of Kentucky. Guthrie was first elected to this seat in 2008. He is seeking reelection to his current seat. In 2018, he won reelection defeating Hank Linderman (D) and Thomas Loecken (I) (Guthrie – 68.7%; Walker – 31.1%; Loecken – 2.2%).  He earned a B.S. from United States Military Academy, West Point. He previously served as a  member of the Kentucky State Senate from 1999 to 2008. He is a business person by profession.
