Republican Kay Granger

Kay Granger (b. January 18, 1943, in Greenville, TX) is a Republican member of the U.S. House representing Texas's 12th Congressional District. She is seeking reelection to her current seat. Granger was first elected to the House in the general election in 1996. In 2018, Granger defeated Democrat Vanessa Adia and Libertarian Jacob Leddy (Granger – 64.3%; Adia – 33.9%; Leddy – 1.8%). Granger earned her undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University. She worked as a high school english teacher and operated her own insurance agency before serving as a member of the Fort Worth city council and mayor of Fort Worth.
