Republican James Comer

James Comer Jr. is a (b. August 19, 1972, in Carthage, TN) Republican member of the U.S. House representing the 1st Congressional District of Kentucky. Comer was first elected to this seat in 2016. He is seeking reelection to his current seat. In 2018, Comer won reelection defeating Paul Walker (D)  (Comer – 68.6%; Walker – 31.4%).  He earned a B.S. from Western Kentucky University. He previously served as a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives from 2001 to 2012. Comer was the Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture from 2012 to 2016. He is a business person and a farmer by profession.
