Republican John Ratcliffe

John Ratcliffe (b. October 20, 1965, Chicago, IL) is a Republican member of the U.S. House, representing the 4th Congressional District of Texas. Ratcliffe was first elected in 2014. He is running for reelection to the U.S. House. In 2018, Ratcliffe defeated Democrat defeated Catherine Krantz and Libertarian Candidate Ken Ashby (Ratcliffe - 75.7%; Krantz - 23.0%; Ashby - 1.3%). Ratcliffe earned his undergraduate degree from University of Notre Dame and a law degree from Southern Methodist University. He was previously a lawyer in private practice and served as a United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas. His first political office was as Mayor of Heath, Texas.
