Thomas Emmer
Tom Emmer (b. March 3, 1961, in South Bend, ID) is a Republican member of the U.S. House representing the 6th Congressional District of Minnesota. Emmer was first elected to this seat in 2014. He is seeking reelection to his current seat. In 2018, he won reelection defeating Ian Todd (D) and others (McCollum – 61.1%; Ryan –38.7%; others – 0.1%). He earned a B.A. from the University of Alaska and J.D. from Mitchell College of Law. He was previously a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2004-2010. He served on the Delano City Council from 2003 to 2004 and the Independence City Council from 1995 to 2002. He is an attorney by profession.
