Republican James Hill

French Hill (b. December 5, 1956, in Little Rock, AK) is a Republican member of the U.S. House representing Arkansas’ 2nd Congressional District. Hill is running for reelection to the U.S. House. He was first elected in 2014. In 2018, he defeated Democrat Clarke Tucker and Libertarian candidate Joe Swafford (Hill – 52.1%; Tucker – 45.8%; Swafford – 2.0%). Hill earned his bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University. Before holding public office, Hill founded and led the Delta Trust & Banking Corp., which later merged with the Arkansas-based Simmons First National Corp. He also served in the first Bush administration as a senior official and a Deputy Assistant Secretary at the Department of Treasury.
