Republican Gary Palmer

Gary Palmer (b. May 14, 1954, Haleyville, AL) is a Republican member of the U.S. House, representing the 6th Congressional District of Alabama. Palmer was first elected in 2014. Palmer is running for re-election to the U.S. House. In 2018, Palmer won reelection by defeating Democrat Danner Kline (Palmer - 69.2%; Kline - 30.8.%). Palmer earned a B.S. in Operations Management from the University of Alabama and worked in the private sector for 12 years. Prior to serving in public office, Palmer was the president of the conservative think tank Alabama Policy Institute for 24 years. Palmer also served on four different state commissions on behalf of three different Governors.
