Republican Mark Amodei

Mark Amodei (b.June 12, 1958, Carson City, NV) is a Republican member of the U.S. House representing Nevada's 2nd Congressional District. Amodei was first elected to the U.S. House in 2011 in a by special election, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of United States Representative Dean Heller. He is seeking reelection to his current seat. In 2018, he won election by defeating Democratic Clint Koble (Amodei - 58.2%; Koble - 41.8%). Amodei earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada, Reno and a  J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, Sacramento, CA. He later served as a Judge Advocate General's Corps for the U.S. Army and worked as an attorney in private practice. Amodei served in both state houses in Nevada and as president pro tempore Nevada state senate.
