Democrat Edward Case

Ed Case (b.  September 27, 1952, in Hilo, HI) is a Democratic member of the U.S. House representing Hawaii's 1st Congressional District. Case was first elected to this seat in 2018. He is seeking reelection to his current seat. In 2018, Case won election by defeating Republican Cam Cavass (Case - 73.1%; Cavass - 23.1%). Case earned his B.A. from Williams College, Williamstown, MA and J.D. from Hastings College of Law at the University of California, San Francisco, CA. He worked as an attorney in private practice for the law firm Bays Lung Rose & Holma and senior vice president and chief legal officer for Outrigger Hotels. Case previously represented Hawaii's 2nd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2002 to 2007.  He was first elected to the 2nd District in a special election to fill the vacancy caused by the death of United States Representative Patsy Mink. He also served as member of the Hawai'i state house of representatives.
