Democrat David Cicilline

David Cicilline (b. July 15, 1961, in Providence, RI) is a Democratic member of the U.S. House representing the 1st Congressional District of Rhode Island. Cicilline was first elected to this seat in 2010. He is seeking reelection to his current seat. In 2018, he defeated Patrick Donovan (R) (Cicilline – 66.7%; Donovan – 33.1%). He received his B.A. from Brown University and a J.D. from Georgetown University. Cicilline is a former member of the Rhode Island state house of representatives and the former mayor of Providence. He is an attorney by profession.
