Democrat Terri Sewell

Terri Sewell (b. January 1, 1965, in Huntsville, AL) is a Democratic member of the U.S. House representing Alabama's 7th Congressional District. Sewell is running for re-election to the U.S. House. Sewell was first elected to the House in 2010. In 2018, Sewell ran unopposed. Sewell is also the first black woman to ever serve in the Alabama Congressional delegation. Sewell graduated from Princeton University and Oxford University. She then earned her law degree from Harvard Law School. Prior to serving in Congress, Sewell was a partner in the Birmingham law office of Maynard, Cooper & Gale, P.C., where she focused on securities and public finance law.
