Republican Mo Brooks

Mo Brooks (b. April 29, 1954, in Charleston, SC) is a Republican member of the U.S. House representing Alabama's 5th Congressional District. Brooks was first elected to the House in 2010. Brooks is running for re-election to the U.S. House. In 2018, Brooks won reelection by defeating Democrat Peter Joffrion (Brooks - 61.0%; Joffrion - 38.9%). Brooks received his undergraduate from Duke University and earned his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law. He was an attorney in private practice. For ten years, Brooks served in the Alabama House of Representatives (1982 - 1992). He would later serve as a prosecutor, an Alabama District Attorney, and on the Board of Commissioners.
