HOBOKEN, N.J. (AP) - Commuters on New Jersey Transit’s Pascack Valley rail line won’t be riding trains on weekends and during off-peak hours.

Beginning Sunday, NJ Transit is replacing trains with buses on weekends and during midday hours because of track repairs.

NJ Transit says it estimates the project will last through Oct. 28.

Trains will continue to operate between Secaucus and Hoboken during repair work.

While busing is in effect, all Metro-North commuters from Spring Valley, Nanuet and Pearl River, New York, are allowed to use commuter passes for travel on Metro-North’s Hudson Line between Tarrytown, New York and Grand Central Station.

Cross-honoring will only happen on weekends.

Commuters also can use NJ Transit rail passes on buses.
