The brief Francisco Rodriguez experiment is over.
The Washington Nationals released Rodriguez Friday, according to The Washington Post.
Rodriguez, 35, was signed last month by the Nationals on a flier to see if he had anything left to help their bullpen.
Washington signed Rodriguez, nicknamed “K-Rod,” to a minor league contract days after the Detroit Tigers released him on June 23.
