Grayson Allen announced Tuesday that he will return to Duke for his senior season.
Allen, a guard, chose to return to the university instead of declare for the NBA draft, where scouting sites like DraftExpress pegged him as a second round prospect.
This is the second year in a row in which Allen skipped out on possibly being drafted. After his sophomore year, Allen was projected as a mid-first round pick.
However, Allen’s junior season was up and down. He was suspended in December for one game after tripping another opponent, his third instance of doing so. Allen was also moved to the bench and became the sixth man for a Duke squad that featured Jayson Tatum and Luke Kennard.
Allen’s scoring average fell from 21.6 points per game his sophomore year to 14.5 this past season.
