With Jammal Brown still a question mark at right tackle, the Washington Redskins would love to at least have left tackle Trent Williams on the field. He was there for part of Monday’s practice but didn’t take part in team drills, still nursing a bruised left foot suffered when teammate Maurice Hurt got rolled up on him Thursday night at the Buffalo Bills.

“He’s good. I think he’s still a little bit sore,” coach Mike Shanahan said. “It’ll be day-by-day. Not really sure how quickly it’s going to improve.”

Williams pronounced himself to be feeling “a lot better” and is itching to get back into action.

“Of course I want to be out there,” he said. “If coach let me go, I’m going to go.”

Running back Roy Helu Jr. missed Monday afternoon’s practice with Achilles tendonitis.

“He’s got a little Achilles tendonitis,” Shanahan said. “He’s had that before. Hopefully it’s not too serious so we can get him back to normal.”

Nose tackle Chris Neild left practice early with a left knee injury. Shanahan said Neild will have an MRI.
